July 2003

Innisfree lost a founding member, brother and friend, Mike Gleeson on July 30, 2003.  Mike had an amazing voice and the gift of music.  He played many instruments, sang many songs and told many stories.  He had gentle hands when finger pickin' - mastering the guitar and the mountain dulcimer and infectious energy on both rhythm/lead guitar and banjo.  He loved Irish and American folk music and also knocked-out audiences with songs like, "Pink Cadillac", "Johnny Be Good", "Good hearted Woman" and "The MTA" just to name a few.  Mike is sorely missed by his many friends, his family and his band.  We have holes in our hears and there is a giant hole on stage.  His music lives on in our souls and in his many recordings.  Go to www.innisfreemusic.com for more information and memories of Mike.
